Correcting the incompatibility between Office 32bits and QC 64bits

  1. Open the Command Prompt on the Start menu
    Tip

    Press the shortcut Windows + R to open the Execute menu and type in “cmd” without the quotes.

  2. Type cmd in the Windows search box and select cmd.exe
  3. Type in the pathway where the installer was saved and its name followed by a space and /passive, as in the example below:
    C:\Users\SKA\Downloads\AccessDataBaseEngine_X64.exe /passive
    Warning

    This pathway is just a sample, in your computer, the username will not be SKA.

  4. Close the Command Prompt by typing the exit command or using the red X button on the upper right corner.
  5. Open the Register Editor by typing regedit in the search box and selecting “regedit.exe”
  6. Delete or rename the register mso.dll in the following pathway:
    “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\FilesPaths”
    Warning

    In case you don’t delete “mso.dll”, a “Reconfiguring” message will appear every time you open an Office application.

  7. After deleting the register, close the editor.
